Actual title: Modern Primitives: The Matriarch

Model: Aradia Ardor
Makeup & styling: Roshar

Part of the ongoing series that began with "The Queen," which is intended, as I said in the first submission, to be a look at what happens when National Geographic collides with a beauty shot.

absolutely wonderful. Sita, I love to see another person who is talented like yourself. I have found less than 15 female photographers (including us) with the breadth of knowledge and entrepeneural wisdom that you have. If you want, I will let you know of some of the others.

This entire series has been phenomenal! The cultural blending and touch of fashion glamour has been delightful.

Very VERY stunning. I love how this series pushes the boundaries of how we see beauty. Unique looks like this are far more interesting than any generic portrait.

(and yay, when I saw this in my inbox I was scared that it would be mature content, which I can't view anymore.)

whoa... amazing!
forgive this stupid question, but her skin... how did you get the make up so smooth?
:iconsitamae:
It's not a stupid question at all! In this case there were several factors:

1) The model has great skin. (Without it, everything else would have taken a lot more work.)

2) The makeup artist is extremely skilled. I can't tell you what his magic is, because I'm not a makeup artist, and he's been doing this for about 20 years. I can tell you that having a good makeup artist on hand if you're doing beauty work is really, really important.

3) The lighting I used flattens a lot of imperfections so that they're not as visible.

4) Professional retouching was the final phase. The retoucher caught anything that needed catching, and gave the overall image a smoother appearance, because I wanted her to look as if she was a sculpture.

This is one of those images that isn't a reflection of reality, and isn't really supposed to be.

I love the looks you have gotten in this series of photos.

She looks like an alabaster statue.
